BLAQ% Drabble 003

To Kenia,

Avoiding puddles frantically, you dashed through the street. 

You hated it whenever he was late.

He hated it even more when you were late.

When you turned at the corner, he was already trying to walk away from the fans that had recognized him.

Oh, no.
If only you had arrived earlier.

You did a little wave when he spotted you, making your way down another street and into a familiar cafe. The waitress smiled at you, leading you to the secluded corner you always shared with Mir. 

When Mir finally sat down, you waited for the worse.

The look in his eyes was one you did not recognize.

Was he being careful because he had something unpleasant to tell?

As soon as your name left his lips in a nervous whisper, you blurted out line after line of apology.

"I'm sorry I made you wait.
I'm sorry I had to cancel yesterday's date even though you were busy.
I'm sorry you have to go through so much trouble just to meet me.
I'm sorry, I really am!"

Mir gave you a confused look, and leaned over so close that his forehead was almost touching yours.

"On a usual day I'd probably make a fuss about waiting and being mobbed by fans because of it, but today's our first anniversary so..."

He took your hand and kissed it. "Happy anniversary, dear."

Slipping a ring on your finger, he added, "I promise to wait for you many more times in the future."
